I love Rosa’s. I’ve been coming here for years. It’s yummers! The cheese crisps are perfectly cheesy and crunchy, the chimichangas are perfectly chimichanga-y, and the salsa..... a mouthwatering explosion of garlicky, zesty, cilantroy, spice-o-lisciousness. Super yum! Be warned, the salsa is not for babies. There can be problems the next day if you eat as much salsa as I do. But that’s life in the Old Pueblo. And, like Bruno, we don’t talk about it. The main reason I’ve come to Rosa’s over and over over the years. I can’t get over the #9. The chile rellenos. Ka-bam! It’s over the top. This is one of the few places that makes their rellenos in an ortega and not a ranchero sauce. I can’t quit it. Like Brokeback Mountain. One criticism. The guacamole. It’s about as mediocre as it could be without being just plain bad. Boooo! Whatever, I don’t come here for the guac. I come here to frighten my cardiologist and regret life after my first cup of coffee the next morning. And for the #9: two chile rellenos, rice and beans. Yummmm! Edit: years after I wrote this original review, Rosa’s #9 is still the BEST rellenos you’ll get anywhere!

Personally, one of my favorites restaurants since moving to Tucson; and it’s less than a block from me. I would come in more often if you would please add a kids menu- it makes no sense to order ANYTHING from your menu for my 4 year old A simple kid sized bean and cheese burrito with rice would be stellar! Also... I never understand my check.. I wish it was easier to read. I love the staff and owners, they are all so nice and welcoming- very attentive. I have never had a single issue except that I have no clue what to feed my daughter from there so now I come every once in a while (every 6 months or so) or have to do take out only and then stop elsewhere (fast food) for her sadly. I’ve been choosing a different restaurant altogether because my check is just too expensive and I go home with wayyy too much food due to the kids menu issue The food is quite tasty!!! I miss coming more! Please add simple children’s options to consider a broader customer base :) Blessings!

The food here was not just great but it tasted authentic. Portion size and pricing was also good and just the right amount per person. The ambiance of the restaurant was also nicely laid out from the decorations to the art pieces throughout the restaurant. Staff is super friendly. If you go the flan is a must as well as the Margarita. They are both sweet enough without feeling overpowering. Will definitely come again!

Absolutely great Mexican food. I ordered a #5 combination: shredded beef taco, red chili tamale, cheese enchilada, rice and beans. It was still sizzling when served. Wow. I really enjoyed this meal. Even the salsa was good. Just enough heat for flavor. I highly recommend Rosa's.

Definitely 8.5/10. Chili rellano is one of the best I've had recently 9.5/10, beef chimi 8/10, rice 5/10, beans 8/10, salsa & chips 10/10. Cute traditional ambiance, fast (but not super friendly) service. All & all one of the better Mexican spots & definitely best I've tried in that area.

Rosa's Mexican Restaurant was very good. I had chicken tacos, which were very good, and my husband had chicken enchiladas, which were very good as well. The chicken in both of our entrees was very moist and delicious! The atmosphere was very authentic, colorful, small but in a good way and just pleasant. The whole staff was friendly, pleasant, and helpful.

Rosa's has a pleasant decor and some of the best Mexican food you will find north of 22nd street. Their shredded beef tacos are served in a freshly homemade corn shell that is deep fried. My cardiologist probably wouldn't approve, but damn, they're good!
